We can't imagine many will care, but, especially for the schadenfreude out there, here are the final dying moments of the MMO that never really got out of the starting gates ('cos it was crap).

Follow this link to watch the movie, courtesy of those clever boys and girls at Kokatu. There's even a dying moments video with music by Queen, which might make it more palatable for some.

BattleForge is a rts/mmo/collectible card game hybrid that's due for release in a month or so.

DarkFall online pre-order servers are now up and running, but (according to developers, Adventurine) accounts are selling like hot cakes, so you'll have to act fast if you want to play on opening day.

We have a different view. Do you really want to spend your cash on a game we know almost nothing about?

In this age of half-finished and buggy online releases, this game is a ghost in the mists of obscurity. It's the invisible woman flashing her breasts - tantalizing, but pretty frustrating when you can see right through her!

Our advice is to wait a month or two before investing your money in an unknown game. Wait until the proper reviews hit the web before forking out 50 Euros on a non-refundable electronic download.

Go here to waste your cash.

Pre-order details for the newest MMO on the block, DarkFall Online have now been made available.

The game goes live on 25th February and is available only via electronic download at the somewhat hefty price of 42 Euros (it ain't cheap).

Pre-orders will begin within the next 48 hours and consist of the Darkfall client digital download along with the obligatory free first month of play.

It's the pre-ordering that's a bit unusual: A non-refundable payment of 2.52 Euros is required to activate the process. The remainder (39.48) of the pre-order price will be billed on February 25th. You’ll be free to cancel the purchase any time before the additional charge goes in on February the 25th (does this seem strange to anyone else)?

So you're basically being charged 2.52+VAT for a game you may never play.

Darkfall’s monthly subscription is set at an equally pricey 11.77 euro. A 3 month subscription has a 10% discount and a six month subscription has 15% discount.

In addition, there's a 19% VAT added to all payments within the EU. So this makes it a fairly expensive game with a whopping single monthly charge. You can pay by Paypal, which  does make it easier for gamers without credit cards.

MMORPG.com writer Paragus reviews the game and compares it to Asheron's Call and Ultima Online. Click on the picture below to read his comments.

A gaming convention is a bit of an oddity; one for the few titles of a single company even more so. You'd expect them to be part of the niche circuit attended by the geekiest of the bizarre, but no, with World of Warcraft attempting world domination, Blizzcon has, for many, become the must see event of the year.

Now in its third year, Blizzcon goes from strength to strength. While there's not much to say about this year's offering right now, check out the website for more details, and go get out the bacofoil and leather straps to make yourself a class costume. Your only question is: will you go as a night elf or a pandaren...

The rules of this game are simple: take your favourite alcoholic beverage, fill your glass, and take turns of 10 to 15 minutes to play any MMO you like.

Take A Drink Every Time:
* Someone sends you a tell.
* Your character lags.
* You get killed in PvE.
* You're doing a quest where you have to collect animal parts (such as cow tongues) and those parts magically aren't on the corpse you just killed.
* You see a graphical anomaly (on screen). Note: If you see a graphical anomaly in the real world, you should probably stop playing this drinking game immediately!

Finish Your Drink Every Time:
* You crash to desktop.
* Your character rubberbands.
* You get killed in PvP (or RvR if you’re playing Warhammer).
* You’re playing any of the Asian MMOs (you’ll probably need it).

Finish the Bottle If:
* You level up (probably best not to play this game with a starting character, then).
* You get some kind of error message onscreen.
* You receive a mail from a gold seller.

Finish Everyone Else's Drinks If:
* You log in to find your account has been hacked.

Again, please remember that this game is NOT advised for children!

This trailer should satisfy your lycra wearing fetishes, at least long enough for the newest MMO on the block, Champions Online to be released (Spring 2009).

There'll be no love you long time for Guild Wars fans as the sequel to the best-selling online action adventure Guild Wars 2 has been put back until 2010, and possibly even as far back as 2011.

Also being put on hold is Aion, which may be released at the end of 2009.

Developers NcSoft has suffered greatly over the past year with a drop of 40% in earnings. Could this be the writing on the wall for the company that's been churning out Korean MMOs like they're going out of fashion for the past five years? Probably not, but with a drop in earnings of that magnitude, it's clear the American company is taking a step back to regroup.
